Craftsmen by passion, designers by vocation

Laboratorio85 was born in 2014 from the union of Max and Giuly, husband and wife — the heart and hands behind a project that blends passion, craftsmanship, and a love for beauty.

Max, a goldsmith for over forty years, has dedicated his life to the study and creation of handcrafted jewelry. Every day, in his workshop in Borgomanero, metal takes shape in his expert hands — a delicate balance between precision and intuition. Today, traditional techniques are complemented by 3D modeling and printing tools, merging ancient wisdom with contemporary innovation.

Giuly, on the other hand, is the creative heart of the workshop. She sketches lines and geometries that express an emotion, a gesture, a fragment of light. She follows each project step by step, from the first drawing to the final delivery, guiding clients through a shared journey of creation.

In their space in Borgomanero — and now also in their new store in Arona — the atmosphere is warm and welcoming: every visit is a dialogue, every commission a small story to be interpreted together.

"Every piece of jewellery is an encounter.
Between the person who creates it, the person who wears it and the light that passes through them."

Giuly & Max

Designing Emotions

For Giuly, design is not just about aesthetics — it is an intimate, silent language.
Every line she draws is a visual translation of a feeling, a memory, or a fleeting moment that longs to remain.
Her sketches are born from subtle observations — light passing through glass, geometry found in nature, a detail of architecture — and transform into essential, pure, contemporary forms.

In her work, rigor and poetry coexist: a quest for balance between the inner world and the matter that gives it form.
Each piece of jewelry carries meaning — an invitation to slow down, to feel, to rediscover oneself through the light one chooses to wear.

The matter that becomes soul

Max, a goldsmith for over forty years, has learned that the true art of gold does not lie in perfection, but in the presence of the one who creates.
Every polish, every setting, every small imperfection tells the story of hands that know the weight of time and the precision of experience.

In the Borgomanero workshop, the flame and magnifying glass are still everyday tools — now joined by 3D modeling and printing techniques that expand creative possibilities without compromising the soul of craftsmanship.
Technology is an ally, not a substitute: a means that serves the spirit of the craft.
